The project entailed updating a kitchen for a longtime Greenwich Village resident. Embarking on a new phase in her life, it would be an upbeat space for her family and friends to hang out as well as an inspiring place for her to do what she loves - cook and entertain. Beyond the necessities of a more functional layout, the client had a clear and non-negotiable requirement - to introduce an eating area specifically with a banquette so that there would be a comfortable spot for gathering. She also wanted the kitchen to reflect her artistic sensibility to color, material and pattern. The project needed to be done on a quick schedule and once it was finished, she moved back in and "cooked up a storm."
